| Part of the newly completed Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Headquarters, the LAPD Memorial to Fallen Officers is a tribute to the men and women in blue who have died in the line of duty.
The memorial is experienced from afar as a solid wall of lit brass. But as visitors approach, one's perception of this wall becomes that of a vast assemblage of discrete individual brass plates, seemingly suspended in light and air allowing one views between them. This transformative experience is intended to dynamically express the LAPD as a collective and as individuals, whose duty is to both protect the public and to mediate the laws that govern them.
