Pitzer College Residential LIfe Phase II (# 349) |
When students and faculty settled into their newest digs at Pitzer College, they were greeted by shaded porches, cozy meeting nooks, and a clearly eco-conscious design.
The project is the second of three phases of the College’s housing master plan. As Phase I received LEED Gold, Phase II achieved LEED Platinum which includes additional technology as well as improved strategies based on lessons learned from phase I.
The buildings consist of residential suites and support spaces located in three commons clusters and include a variety of quiet and social study rooms, decks, an exhibition kitchen for cooking classes, a TV lounge, laundry rooms, trash and recycle areas. The commons also have three studios for use by faculty, residential life staff, or visiting faculty. The first level of the west hall is home to media studies and study abroad programs, archive conferencing center, the mac lab, and core learning spaces.
