Clairbourn Schools Early Childhood Center is the first place students embark on their “formal” education. It was the design team’s goal to make it a warm and inviting place for play, exploration and learning. The stylized Georgian Colonial aesthetic in concert with the landscaping themes fosters a warm and nurturing campus environment for learning.
The project consists of three Pre Kindergarten Classrooms and a Teacher Workroom/Kitchen Facility of approximately 4,000 S.F. Classrooms utilize exposed wood trusses, operable clerestory windows, daylighting, passive ventilation and environmentally friendly “green” and sustainable materials and products.
The exterior play areas and spaces are designed for creative, fun and imaginative play and learning experiences. The Trellis Theater, gardens, tricycle paths and play structures blend into and with the landscaping creating a playful aesthetic to the ground and building.
The complete project was approximately $337 per square foot, - on time and on budget.
