Category: Multi Family Residential
Images Description Credits
This development provides affordable homeownership opportunities for a range of household incomes, including 33 low- and moderate-income units, 3 workforce homes, 4 market rate homes, and 1 commercial unit. This project blends new construction with rehabilitated historic homes. The architects took their design cues from the surrounding neighborhood. The four new buildings are constructed in the Arts and Crafts style.

The project was the first in the U.S. to use New Market Tax Credits (NMTC) to fund an affordable for-sale housing project.

The developer worked with a local college to arrange for the purchase of the workforce and market-rate units by faculty households; the college provided secondary financing to assist with the purchase of these units.

The developer also worked in collaboration with the local utility to achieve an energy savings of 56% compared to Title 24 requirements. All parking is below-grade to maximize community green space throughout.
