The Kaiser Permanente Chino Grand Campus—the first ground-up Next Generation Medical Office to realize the organization’s Life Integration principles—is an aspirational health campus that feels more like a celebratory community center than a traditional medical office building. The design honors Southern California’s indoor/outdoor lifestyle, with key functional elements pulled out of the main building to frame a landscaped heart that becomes a uniquely welcoming “place.” All indoor and outdoor spaces, including the playful Public Square, are welcoming, emphasizing innovative primary and specialty care and offering opportunities for healthy choices that reflect Kaiser Permanente’s Thrive Brand. Two stand-alone buildings house Vision Essentials and a Community Room surrounded by a Main Plaza, a Community Garden, a Contemplative Retreat and a Thrive Walk. Comfortable exam rooms shift away from the clinical and sterile by focusing on the personal interaction between member and provider.
