Central Coast Barn
(# 420)
Images Description Credits
Located on a 52 acre ranch in the hills of the Central Coast, CA… there is a hillside building pad that on a clear day hints towards a view of the Pacific Ocean.  The program is simple.  A shelter.  A 3,000 SF shelter to facilitate ______________.

The steel structure moment frames allow for large openings, 360 degrees of openings.  Allowing cross ventilation from the valley winds, visual moments of the hillside grasses,  and on a clear day the ocean.  Then add corten steel to solve the exterior cladding.  Openings and Materials in a cohesive, organized and modern solution.

Off the grid
Gabion seat walls made with on-site rocks
Up-cycled storage containers
5kW PV array
Extensive roof overhangs shading the exterior surfaces a majority of Spring and Summer days
