Laguna Residence
(# 428)
Images Description Credits
This odd shape sloping lot in Laguna beach was the challenge set forth for the project.  Views of the ocean was to the side and Neighbors view preservation was the other factor.
We wanted to create a family home with most possible ocean views and open space taking advantage of the ocean breeze.
the house is set in two part public and private, public spaces are set at top level angled to face the ocean as best as possible. Ocean  facing wal of glass and retracting sliding glass doors disappearing into a pocket allows of the total inside/outside feel opening to the upper deck level.
there are no walls blocking the views other than occasional partition elements over fire element and walls  separating the garage.
all bedroom facing the yard and pool deck with a portion of the upper level cantilevering to create a covered patio. the Front elevation is separated in two, by a steel panels that have been cut to depict a tree pattern with light penetrating through a glass wall behind.
