| Venice Beach has an immensely dense knitted urban fabric that combines hundreds of opposing layers into a SINGLE URBAN PROGRAM that is simply known as Venice beach. The Rise of the city corresponds with the discovery of oil in 1930’s and since then the city has gone through major economic and socio-political changes from great depression, to WW2 to gang capital. These ephemera moments constantly shaped and reshaped the city’s image.
The Site is a vacant parking lot located at 609 ocean front walk Venice beach.
Due to highly disorganized and obscure nature of Venice, we wanted to introduce something that the site lacked. We wanted to introduce something which would make a statement!; Thus taking advantage of the site's prime location the project introduces a highly exclusive hotel which has a close connection to beach and to the boardwalk giving the illusion of transparency yet It being very exclusive almost like a getaway if desired to be. |
