The identity of our digital design project over the course of its continued development has now been manifested. The combination of form and "landscape" were used to communicate the ability to break through known barriers. Often times, the known site restraints and or programmatic variables, push back on a project only allowing for so much to be explored; taking this into consideration, my colleague and I deliberately chose to explore the idea of breaking past these boundaries in every stage of our design process. To illustrate this best, we extruded pieces beyond their limits allowing them to interact and protrude into other spaces; serial sections invade the perspective rendering; gray-colored shadows extend beyond their boundaries; objects escape their origins; merged elevations fade out; and lastly, the notion of outer space is present to emphasize that there is never an end - that there are no limits. "Beyond" is defined as happening or continuing after, which is what we concluded to be the name of this piece. Ultimately, our project exposes the concept of a project never being complete, instead it has the opportunity to continuously evolve and be developed.
