Specific Use of Building Community Library
Project Location Hans Tavsens Park, Copenhagen, Denmark
The concept of the library was organized in plan. The library was designed programmatically, to optimize every past of the library. A decision was made to introduce a binding and publishing section as well, to expose the process to the visitors.

A central courtyard was introduced at the center of the to bring in more light and give outdoor reading spaces for the community.

The library consists of two elements that create the various spaces within, the roof and the shelf. The roof consists of vaults that are irregular and that were created with different sizes arches that intersect. The shelf wraps around the vaulted spaces, and creates a full threshold between different programatic areas. The shelf also starts expanding in some parts to create further program, when needed.

Since the library is open plan, the vaults are utilized as a space for individual study.
