The 8,000 square foot design transforms a non-descript warehouse into a state-of-the-art recording studio environment that masters the art of audio and visual production in a single, fully integrated production facility. A 3,000 sf sound stage includes a pre-lit 35 foot cyclorama backdrop with supporting makeup and green room and editing suite. Custom CNC fabricated MDF acoustic panels in the Live Room include patterns engineered to work in conjunction with sound panels for optimum acoustics.
The design solution is inspired by the patterns created by sound waves. Sculpted, MDF wood fins choreograph movement along the main circulation spine and the front-of-house spaces. The spatial experience mimics the sensation of sound waves rhythmically moving as people pass by. Conceptually, the wave walls respond to their location by varying in amplitude and depth: quieter, smaller sound waves in the intimate spaces are complemented by fully animated waves wrapping around the recording studio. |
