Montclair Youth Center (# 8) |
The Montclair Youth Center is an 8,200 square foot adaptive re-use of the former Montclair Police Department to meet the needs of the City's underserved youth population. The original space was transformed from a dark, compartmentalized office setting with a detention facility into an open, multi-functional recreational environment for teens. With the challenge of a tight budget and limited space, the City required a host of programs for the project. The solution was achieved by large flexible spaces within the interior and open activity areas that flow into one another.
