The design for the new Student Services and Administration Building unites the college’s dispersed service programs under one roof and utilizes an integrated planning model for delivering services that result in spatial and operational efficiencies that overcome the college’s limited financial resources. Through the implementation of an internet-based online queuing system, traditional waiting areas are reimagined as a student commons where students have access to self-service computer stations and outreach program representatives that help guide the students toward a path of success in their academic career. With a respect for the distinct architectural history of the campus and local community, the building derives its visual inspiration from the historic mission architecture of the area as expressed within the context of the campus.
