CAR EXHIBIT GALLERY
Located as a sales pavilion on a large dealership sales lot
A creative structure that would attract people from the outside and amuse people from the inside. The focal point is a nice large entry that combined with a perfect pathway it can take the visitors through a magical journey of beauty. This structure is meant to be a car gallery where people can go and admire a featured historic car. The center of the structure is where everyone gets the opportunity to admire the newer and the most historic cars ever built.
I was inspired to design this as a car exhibit gallery by the to view of the structure you can roof from is similar in shape to that of a F1 car. With the right color pallet applied this will be one of the coolest car galleries in southern California.
This project was based off of my original two dimensional shape design project developed in the first portion of the design course. The activity developed our ability to create a 3D structure from a 2D designs. This project also allowed me to generate a design solution through several iterations. I used positive and negative volumes along with horizontal and vertical planes to create a variety of spatial experience.
My intent with the design is to create a sense of mystery as one approaches the major space along the defined pathway. The viewer when passing through the views will be partially revealed and overtime as a person progresses toward the major space. This major space has a clearly identifiable figure shape of a triangle that is delineated by defining elements. The designed entry invites the user and then provides a transitional experience between the world and the major space that involves both time and space. |
