The Transformer was a one-day project during my first semester as an architecture student. The concept of the project is to transform one two-dimensional sheet of 20” x 30” white foam core board in to a three-dimensional cube exhibiting explicit forms and spaces. Then, create an abstract design that contained multiple implied spaces and forms, that would examine the use of light, shade, and shadow on the surfaces of the model, emphasizing the expression of the three-dimensional project.
By following specific rules and techniques, such as the required cuts and the constructing tools, I was able to make many transformations toward my final design. As a result of developing my craftsmanship skills, I created many simple and geometric shapes. I was able to make my ideas and thoughts reality by transform some preliminary ideas using yellow trace paper to a final physical form.
