MiraCosta College embarked on a number of firsts with the Health and Wellness Hub – Design and construction of the first of five new interdisciplinary academic hubs on campus. First collaborative design build project for the College. And an opportunity for a bold new architectural response that would give the campus a more contemporary and exciting aesthetic while staying true to the welcoming feel and human scale that support the culture MiraCosta is known for.
The result is a complex of three unique buildings, each crafted around a dedicated courtyard space and the functional requirements each program. At the same time, the buildings share a common architectural language and emphasis on the landscape – linking directly to a central green space with opportunities for collaboration, socialization, and inspiration among students from all of the Health and Wellness programs that call this new complex home.
