| The recent establishment of the owner’s branch office in the desert city is the driving force of this project. The existing building on site does not fit the owner’s needs. Requested by the owner, the new design shall accommodate spaces not only for her temporary stay in the city, it should also be able to host small house parties with her clients occasionally for marketing purposes. The new residence shall stand out from the rest of the existing adjacent buildings while retaining the quality of a desert house. A simple, straight forward, but contemporary design is proposed. The main living area is located on the first floor constructed with prefabricated units and the bathroom and bedroom are placed at the semi-underground basement serving as the foundation of the structure above. |
