The Edible Schoolyard at Cedarcreek Elementary School embodies Saugus Union School District’s vision to revitalize its campus through hands-on, experience-based learning. The project integrates gardens, a greenhouse, a deconstructed silo, and an indoor-outdoor Flex Lab that supports a seamless farm-to-fork educational journey. Students engage in every stage of food cultivation and preparation, fostering curiosity, responsibility, and connection to nature. Sustainable features such as solar lighting, drip irrigation, and recycled materials reinforce environmental stewardship. This vibrant, community-centered facility transforms Cedarcreek Elementary’s campus into a living classroom that reflects the District’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and lifelong learning. |
