This restoration of a Palm Desert Sandpiper Circle 10 home honors the original Mid-Century Modern vision of William Krisel, FAIA, while adapting it for contemporary living. Passionate about MCM architecture, the clients sought to preserve the home’s integrity while improving comfort, function, and longevity.
The kitchen was opened to create a more connected living space, with tile, cabinetry, and finishes inspired by the original period design. The primary bath was redesigned to replace the original Roman tub with a safer, spa-inspired layout while refreshing the iconic dressing area. Closets and storage areas were reconfigured to improve organization and efficiency throughout the home.
Guided by modernist principles: indoor-outdoor living, clean lines, natural light, and landscape integration; the project respectfully preserves the home’s architectural intent while supporting today’s lifestyle. |
