The new Civic Park and Police Station for the City of Victorville represent a generational opportunity to reshape the social infrastructure of a burgeoning desert community. By locating a new 45,000sf public safety building and a four-acre public park on a shared site, the project creates meaningful dialogue between local police and the community members that they serve: a place where recreation and safety can thrive side-by-side. The Civic Park is an inviting destination that brings people together through recreation, culture and history, offering much needed amenities for gathering, play, and year-round celebrations. The Police Station is a high-performance facility that has resiliency and survivability at its core. Onsite energy generation, innovative daylighting strategies, and abundant connections to the outdoors combine to create an environment that is connected to its desert habitat and connected to its community. |
