Specific Use of Building House a Family of 5 with special requirements.
This project took me about the time of the school year. The first semester was all about designing and organizing the floor plan of the house. Being in advanced architecture this year I was told to design a two-story house. The first step was to pick a single family out of the five we were given. Each family had a different amount of members and different requirements. For the family, I picked some of these requirements were, a car garage, a pool, an office, a gym, and many others. Knowing this information I then had to choose a landscape and looked at the orientation of the sun to decide on where to place each room. Once the design was roughly sketched the next step was to cleanly redraw it with accurate and simple measurements. After drawing the walls, windows, and doors, filling every room with furniture was next up on the checklist. Making sure each room had enough space to walk around was difficult at first but it gets simpler with time. The second last step to the floor plan was the flooring. This was a long process and required a lot of patience but the outcome is very pleasing. Finally, to complete the plot plan, I was assigned to draw the landscape which included grass, bushes, paths, and trees. After doing all this work manually on paper with a led holder, scales, and other tools. We re-did everything online. With the computers, we were provided I copied all my work on AutoCAD matching every single measurement. Working on AutoCAD being easier than manually we were assigned to make a roof plan and facades for each side of the house.  All this planning designing and drawing were done in the first semester of school. For the second semester the task was still involving the same plans and design except now it was all about building it. I was given the choice between rendering and modeling. Being interested in legos ever since I was little and enjoying playing Minecraft choosing to model was an obvious choice for me. The building part itself from scratch took a whole semester, including countless hours after school during office hours to make my project as neat as possible. The first part was cutting down with correct measurements pieces of wood to make the walls. I then painted them and added texture with plastic to create depth in the siding. Working on the walls and roof was fun but time-consuming and it was a while before I reached my favorite part about modeling which was putting final touches on the landscapes. This was my second time working on such a project. I had taken regular architecture freshmen years and unluckily couldn't take it again until my senior year. I am glad to have taken that class again and was impressed by my improvement and overall outcome when it came to the final product.
