Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills
(# 202)
Images Description Credits
The existing drop-off was realigned along a more generous linear path to connect the main entry, valet, and Emergency drop-off for easy access. The team added a spacious isolated healing garden adjacent to the emergency drop-off for quiet contemplation. Unencumbered by vehicular traffic, a new outdoor garden and plaza offer space for community activities. Upon arrival, the new entry experience is punctuated by an iconic three-story tall curving blue panel wall that greets members as they arrive. The ground-floor glazed wall, lighted visitor waiting areas, and a full-length slatted metal screen wall provide an inviting entry to the facility. Once inside, the curved wall face brings natural light into the lobby and allows guests to view the night skyscape.
Overall, this project provides enhancements to critical hospital emergency and surgical services and addresses many of the circulation and infrastructure needs of the growing and successful facility.
