The Squirrel House (# 214) |
|
|
Situated in the historic Las Palmas neighborhood in Palm Springs, The Squirrel House exemplifies a symbiotic balance between architecture and landscape. The house opens up to both the north and south, making use of all yard spaces and layering a series of unique experiences. The main space seamlessly frames the mountain views with retractable doors and wood ceilings intended to provide a soft contrast to the rugged mountains. The Squirrel House is designed to operate as an open air breezeway when the glass sliders of the social spaces are open, allowing flow in and through interior and exterior spaces. The breezeway area is flanked by private pavilions containing bedrooms on either end. |
