Roosevelt Elementary School
(# 217)
Images Description Credits
The vision of the new Roosevelt Elementary School is to create a transparent and welcoming campus while providing a safe and secure environment for students. The school is adjacent to Boysen Park named after Charles R. Boysen, a California horticulturist who created the boysenberry, a hybrid of three berries. His invention became the inspiration to create identities for the four different outdoor learning areas. The largest outdoor learning area is named Boysenberry with the smaller ones named after the berry varieties that are part of the hybrid: Raspberry, Loganberry, and Blackberry as an inspiration for students to continue developing their creativity, curiosity, and imagination.
